The cockatiel rescued from a tree in Holywells Park in Ipswich on Monday is still waiting to be claimed from the vets’ practice that has taken him in.
The bird was spotted as dusk approached – and there were fears that he would not survive the night if he was left out in the freezing cold.
Eventually he was coaxed down by apprentice park ranger David Dowding and taken to the nearby Cliff Lane Veterinary Practice.
They are now waiting for his owner to come forward – the bird is wearing a tag so it should not be difficult to identify his owner.
A member of staff at the surgery said: “He’s doing very well, he’s quite chirpy and we’re looking after him but we’d like his owner to come forward.”
If you recognise the bird, contact the surgery on 01473-216042 or visit it at 93 Cliff Lane, Ipswich.
