Police confirm death of Lowestoft man Brian Mitchell after suspected hit-and-run

An 86-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle in Lowestoft last month has died from the injuries he sustained, police have confirmed.
Brian Mitchell, who lived in town, died in hospital on December 23 after he was involved in a suspected hit-and-run collision.
Emergency services were called to High Street at 12.50am on November 15 with reports Mr Mitchell had been found hurt close to the Jubilee Way petrol station.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary said Mr Mitchell had suffered injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle that had failed to stop.
Mr Mitchell was taken to hospital with suspected wrist, hand, leg and head injuries.
As a result of police enquiries, a man has been interviewed in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
