FOURTEEN years ago she limped away from a terrible accident lucky to be alive – today determined Lucy Reeves is in the limelight for altogether more cheerful reasons.

For the 21-year-old, who spent her childhood treading the boards on the Suffolk amateur dramatics circuit, has just clinched a dream job as one of the youngest ever entertainments managers at a Warners theme hotel.

Working at the Norton Grange Hotel, in Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight, she is up on stage every night singing and dancing – and no one is more proud of her than her mum.

"She was so single minded about everything. From the age of four that was what she was going to do. She has achieved her main ambition," said Jane Reeves of Sproughton Road, Ipswich.

Lucy was just seven-years-old when she fell 30ft from the roof of an industrial unit along Sproughton Road after climbing a drain pipe to see how far her toy balloon would float.

She broke her wrist and as reported in The Evening Star at the time was devastated when she missed her audition for the Co-op Juniors because of the injury.

Today she is busy booking cabaret acts, choreographing dancers and organising bands and competitions as well as taking her turn on the stage – and it couldn't be any other way.

Entertainment runs in the family. Her grandparents had a band and used to entertain the troops and her uncle, Nigel Closs, was once a magician at the same centre.
