A FATHER-of-five recovering from an alleged machete attack in an Ipswich pub today described how the incident had affected his life.

David Nicholls, 57, is back at his Ipswich home after spending three nights in hospital with lacerations to his head, nose, neck, arm and fingers.

Today he said: “This has changed my life completely.

“It's put my kids through hell.”

Despite that, he is full of praise for all his family, friends and the staff at Ipswich Hospital who have helped to care for him throughout his ordeal.

“I'm just so happy to be home with my family and my little dog,” he said.
