Real life owls and edible golden snitches are set to spellbind visitors to Ipswich Museum next month during an evening of magical mayhem.

Fans of The Boy Who Lived are being urged to book early for the return of Harry Potter Book Night in early February.

As long as they are 18 or over, guests are encouraged to pack their school trunk and unravel the mysteries of palmistry, visit the Owl Post Office and craft their own edible Golden Snitch with the master chocolatier from Honeydukes.

The Three Broomsticks is open for business where visitors can try the newly imported Pinnock’s Giggle Water.

But attendees might want to keep a clear head if they want to take part in the challenging O.W.L. and N.E.W.T examinations.

Dressing up is not compulsory, but it is encouraged.

Tickets for the event, which runs from 6.30pm to 10pm on February 1, cost £9.90 and can be bought from the Ipswich Museum box office.

Booking is essential and the event is only open to over 18s.
