Magistrates told a rottweiler's owner they were issuing a destruction order against the dog with a 'heavy heart'.
Karen Sexton, of Tower Mill Lane, Hadleigh, pleaded guilty before South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court to having a dangerously out of control dog on July 22 last year.
Prosecutor Lucy Miller said there had been a previous incident where the rottweiler had been involved with a cyclist whose ankle he got hold of.
However, the cyclist managed to shake off the rottweiler named Jake.
Mrs Miller said on July 22 a disabled man and his carer had been walking in Tower Mill Lane when Jake came up to them snapping, causing the man distress.
It took some time before his carer could calm the man down.
It is said carers and postmen will no longer to go down the lane because of Jake.
In addition to the destruction order, magistrates also ordered Sexton to pay £250 in fines and costs.
