DRIVERS face considerable delays after a lorry overturned on the Felixstowe-bound carriageway of the A14 at Trimley.

Police said the driver of the HGV received "potentially life threatening" injuries in the accident which happened around 12.30pm today.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary asked motorists to be patient while police carry out investigations into the serious crash which brought traffic to a halt as the lorry blocked both lanes of the eastbound carriageway.

"The clear up procedure is going to be a long-drawn out process," she added.

The condition of the driver, who was taken to Ipswich hospital, is not known at present.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
