A FELIXSTOWE hair salon is set for a £30,000 makeover after winning a major national award.

Bryan Richards Salon in Gainsborough Road has also been chosen to help hair products company Wella find the Face of 2008.

The salon beat off competition from 500 rival businesses across the country to win the £30,000 spruce-up for its premises, which will start early in the New Year.

The award was donated by Wellonda to mark the salon's achievements and training programmes and promotion of hair fashions.

The hairstyling team is to celebrate its success with a charity hair and fashion show at the Hotel Elizabeth Orwell in Felixstowe on March 21. Tickets for the evening are £12.50 each and all proceeds will go to Cancer Research.

The salon is looking for a contemporary harpist to play at the event and anyone who is able to help should call Kate or Lisa on 01394 277300.

The search for the Wella Face of 2008 is also under way. Models must be at least 16 years old by February 28. Anyone who would like to be considered for the competition or would like to nominate a model should contact the salon for further details.
