A DEATH of a man who was killed on the railway line at Manningtree is not being treated as suspicious.

The victim, thought to be a 19-year-old from Manningtree, was struck by the Norwich to London train at Mill Hill Bridge around 11pm last night.

Police have yet to formally identify the man.

British Transport Police were called to the scene around one mile north of Manningtree Station at 11.08pm.

The 10.02pm service from Liverpool Street to Norwich had to be terminated at Colchester while there were delays of more than an hour on trains in the opposite direction.

The scene was cleared around 12.20am and commuter services this morning were running on time.
