A SECOND man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder today following a stabbing in Ipswich.

A SECOND man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder today following a stabbing in Ipswich.

At 4.40pm today Suffolk police arrested the 25-year-old man at Ipswich police station following an investigation into an altercation in Ipswich town centre during the early hours of Sunday, May 27.

As a result of the incident 19-year-old Matthew Buckman, of Kesgrave, sustained injuries, including a stab wound to the neck. He is still in a serious but stable condition at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where his condition is said to be improving.

Three days after the stabbing 20-year-old Damien Brauer, of Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He was subsequently charged with the offence and appeared at South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court on June 2.
