A man has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a teenage girl in Martlesham.
Police were contacted around 5pm on Friday with a report that the girl had been assaulted whilst walking in an area off Portal Avenue close to Suffolk police headquarters.
This evening, a 39-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
He is in custody at the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.
The alleged assault happened around 2am on Friday when the victim was walking with a man whom had engaged in conversation with her.
They walked along the path in the wooded area next to the road and he sexually assaulted her, police said.
