A man has appeared at court charged with attempted GBH on a police officer following an incident in Ipswich on Friday.
Luke Greenland, 31, of Mountbatten Court, Ipswich, appeared today at South East Suffolk Magistrates Court.
He faces charges of attempted GBH on a police officer, criminal damage to a motor vehicle and using threatening behaviour.
Greenland was arrested following an incident near St Matthew’s Church on Friday, September 1.
At today’s hearing he faced further charges of criminal damage, common assault, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, using threatening behaviour and theft from a shop from an incident on July 7.
He appeared through a video link from Martlesham Police Investigation Centre.
Presiding magistrate Christopher Day passed the case to crown court as the attempted GHB is an indictable only offence.
He remanded Greenland in custody until he appears before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday, October 2.
