Man arrested after A12 police chase

A 54-year-old man will appear in court on Monday after he was involved in a pursuit with police along the A12 south of Saxmundham.

A police vehicle was rammed three times by a white Bedford Midi van during the chase at 6pm on Saturday.

A police vehicle was rammed three times by a white Bedford Midi van during the chase at 6pm on Saturday.

The man has been charged with a variety of driving offences including dangerous driving and failing to supply a specimen of breath. He will appear at North East Suffolk Magistrates court on Monday.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident near the junction of the A12 and the A1094 leading to Aldeburgh to come forward.
