Police have arrested a 36-year-old man after a runner in woods near Foxhall Stadium reported being attacked at the weekend.

The 19-year-old runner was out at around 9.15pm on Saturday running near the Kelvedon Drive area when he was approached by an unknown man and assaulted.

He sustained injuries to his stomach, hand and elbow, and went to Ipswich Hospital for treatment before being released later that evening.

Suffolk police have confirmed that a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) this morning, and taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning.

He currently remains in custody.

Police are still appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
