FELIXSTOWE and Holbrook Coastguard, Harwich RNLI inshore lifeboat and Suffolk Police ground and air support units responded to a report of a possible suicide attempt from the Orwell Bridge, River Orwell.
FELIXSTOWE and Holbrook Coastguard, Harwich RNLI inshore lifeboat and Suffolk Police ground and air support units responded to a report of a possible suicide attempt from the Orwell Bridge, River Orwell.
A man was apprehended on the bridge by a Police unit and taken safely into custody after the incident on Saturday.
During a separate incident on Saturday Harwich RNLI inshore lifeboat, Walton Coastguard and the Yacht LADY DI searched the area of Hedge End Island, Walton backwaters, after reports from a member of public of hearing cries for help.
The area was searched thoroughly by the units but nothing untoward was found and the incident was considered a false alarm, with good intent.
