A CONVICTED Ipswich criminal is today back behind bars following a dramatic chase after he breached the bails of his release conditions.
The 28-year-old man was spotted by officers at around 2.27pm at Belstead Road but failed to give himself up.
A chase ensued and the force helicopter was called in as the man tried to evade police by leaping fences and running through rear gardens.
The man was eventually arrested at 2.40pm after a 13 minute chase.
A spokesperson for Suffolk police said the man, who had been released on licence from prison in September, is believed to have breached the terms of his release and has been remanded in custody.
