A TURKISH man was arrested when a ship docked at Felixstowe today.

A TURKISH man on board a ship was arrested when it docked at Felixstowe today.

The 34-year-old was taken in to custody at Ipswich police station at 2.20am today and is being questioned about damage offences. He will then be transferred to immigration officials.

Police received calls from a Turkish ship in the North Sea last night, just before 11pm, reporting a man on board.

Essex police's marine section got on board the vessel, which was situated about ten miles east of Felixstowe, and detained the man on suspicion of immigration offences.
