A MAN was arrested on suspicion of murder today after the death of two young children, police said.
The 37-year-old suspect was held after the victims, a boy aged two and a girl aged four, were found unconscious at around 8am today at a house on Whalley Road in the Whalley Range area of south Manchester.
The children were taken to hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.
It is understood that the boy and girl were brother and sister, and that the man arrested on suspicion of their murder is their father. It is believed the youngsters had been strangled.
