A 20-YEAR-OLD Ipswich man has been arrested in connection with the burglary of ex-speedway ace Lawrence Hare's home.
Mr Hare said a television stolen in the raid, in Old Norwich Road, Ipswich, has been recovered by police, although they are still hunting for his custom-made wheelchair.
The arrested man has been released on police bail, which he will answer on June 5.
Today, Mr Hare, known as Lol, spoke of the heartache caused by the break-in, which happened between 6pm on Wednesday, April 21 and noon on Thursday, April 22.
He said: "I'm still trying to work out what's missing.
"I haven't been able to go through much because I've been laid low over the weekend with an illness.
"It's hard to come to terms with. Although I've got another wheelchair, it's a pain that I've lost the other one. It makes things more difficult because I could leave them in different places before."
Mr Hare was today contemplating the prospect of completing an insurance claim for his lost items, although he still hopes the remaining items will be recovered.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Detective constable Lloyd Stewart, at Ipswich CID, on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
