A MAN was robbed of money and cigarettes in an Ipswich street.

The incident took place in Belstead Road between 6.30am and 7.30am on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old victim was approached at the junction with Oak Lane by three males. He tried to get away but one of the trio held him, one hit him in the face and the other searched him.

The first male was white, aged 19 to 21, about 6ft, of average build and had a scar on the side of his face.

He was wearing an off-white or grey New York Yankees baseball cap with a black NYY logo on the front, a padded black waist length zip-up jacket and faded light blue jeans with rips in the front upper leg area.

The second male was white, about 22-years-old, shorter that the first male, of average build, with bleached blond shaved hair, light stubble and shaved lines in his left eyebrow.

He was wearing a blue tracksuit with a yellow pattern on the top and white trainers, one of which had a pink lace in it.

One of the legs of his tracksuit bottoms was tucked in to his shoe and the hood of his tracksuit top half covered his head.

The third male was white, aged 17 to 18, about 6ft, of average build, with dark brown hair which was spiky at the back and messy on top. He had a tuft of a beard under his top lip.

He was wearing a black t-shirt with a grey and white zigzag pattern on the chest and light grey tracksuit bottoms.
