Police are appealing for information after a young man was badly beaten by teenagers in an attempted robbery in Ipswich on Friday night.

Police are appealing for information after a young man was badly beaten by teenagers in an attempted robbery in Ipswich on Friday night.

The attack happened in Murray Road at around 10.50pm. The 18-year-old man was stopped by two youths on one bicycle who demanded his mobile phone and then assaulted him.

The victim suffered a broken nose and bruising, cuts and grazes to his face and neck but no property was taken.

Police officers attended the scene after they were alerted by a member of the public who intervened in the attack, telling the youths to leave the man alone.

The two youths are described as white male teenagers wearing dark-coloured hooded tops, both about 5ft 8” tall and thinly built.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the Murray Road area around this time or anyone who may have information about two youths on a bike.
