Man charged following ‘imitation firearm’ incident in Ipswich

A man has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm, with intent to cause fear of violence, following an incident in Ipswich on Thursday.

Terrie Forrest, 34, of no fixed abode in Ipswich, is due to appear at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning.

Armed police discharged a baton round at a man reported to be carrying a gun near Fore Street, Ipswich, on Thursday afternoon.

The man was taken to hospital as a precaution.
