A FORMER Hollesley Prison Bay worker has today been cleared of raping a seven-year-old girl in Woodbridge.

The Ipswich Crown Court jury took around two hours to unanimously find William Collins, 47, not guilty of raping the girl and not guilty of indecently assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

Collins, now of North Wales, had no previous convictions and formerly worked in the Agricultural Section of Hollesley Bay. Throughout the trial he had strenuously denied the charges which were alleged to have taken place at a house in Woodbridge several years ago.
