POLICE have appealed for help from the public as they try to trace three men who accosted a 10-year-old girl in the street.
The girl was walking along the footpath in Hintlesham Close, Stowmarket, between 3.15pm and 3.30pm on Tuesday afternoon when the incident took place.
As she was walking, a dark green car stopped near her in the middle of the road.
Two men were sitting in the front of the car and a third man got out of the boot and approached the girl, shouting at her.
She quickly ran away but was followed up the street by the man, who only left the scene when she went into a nearby house.
A Suffolk Police spokesman said: “This was not a pleasant experience for the young girl involved and enquiries into tracing the males and the dark green car are ongoing.
“If anyone has any idea who the vehicle may belong too or has any other information in regards to the incident then we ask them to contact us as soon as possible.”
The car was described as being “quite old” and a three-door hatchback with a black roof rack on the top
The men were described as being white and all aged between 18 and 25-years-old. One of the men in the front of the car had black hair while the man that came out of the boot was wearing blue jeans and a grey top.
Calls about this incident should be made to Pc Victoria Jarrold of the Stowmarket Neighbourhood Response Team on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
