A 21-year-old Ipswich man accused of raping a 19 year old woman today denied harassing her.

Benjamin Pryke, of Angel Street, Hadleigh, admitted repeatedly calling the woman on her mobile phone and sending her text messages.

However giving evidence at Ipswich Crown Court he claimed that she'd asked him to call her and he wasn't pestering her.

Pryke has denied raping the woman at his parents' home in Queenscliffe Road, Ipswich, in August last year.

It has been alleged that Pryke took the woman's handbag with her keys inside after she had spent the evening at an Ipswich nightclub.

The woman had gone to Pryke's parents' house and while there was allegedly raped.

She claimed that during the alleged attack Pryke put his hands round her throat and said he would kill her.

Pryke has denied raping the woman and claims she initiated the sexual intercourse between them.

The trial continues.
