A 30-YEAR-old man has died in hospital after being found in a critical condition in a house in Kesgrave.

Paramedics were dispatched at around 9am on Thursday to a property in Turing Court where they found the man in a converted loft space and called firefighters to help lift him through a window on a stretcher. He was then placed on a hydraulic platform and lowered to the ambulance on the ground.

The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The death is not being treated as suspicious but initial reports sent to the ambulance service suggested he may have suffered a heart attack. Police said a post-mortem will take place in due course.

Richard Hemsley, of Turing Court, said his partner looked on as paramedics made desperate attempts to save the man's life. He said: “She saw it and said they were compressing his chest and trying to resuscitate him as they were bringing him down on the platform.

“I spoke to him on Monday and he said he was going to Wales, but that was the last time I heard from him. It is a shame.”

Another resident said she did not want to comment on the drama, but added: “It is someone else's tragedy. It wasn't very nice.”
