A man died this morning after being involved in a collision at one of Ipswich’s busiest business parks.

Suffolk Constabulary was called to Latimer Close on Ransomes Europark around 4.40am to reports a man had been found trapped between a lorry and a gate at the entrance of a site there.

Emergency services attended but the man, believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Certas Energy confirmed there had been a fatality outside its depot on the business park.

He said: “The incident involved a driver employed by a haulage firm subcontracted to Certas Energy.

“We are working closely with the police and other authorities to identify the cause of this tragic incident.”

A police spokesman said no-one else was thought to be involved in the incident.

The Health & Safety Executive has been informed but the incident is currently being treated as a collision.

A police investigation is underway and an inquest will take place in due course.
