A MAN has died after suffering a heart attack while playing golf at a Suffolk course.

The man was playing at Brett Vale Golf Club in Raydon, near Hadleigh, when he died at around 2pm on Tuesday.

It is thought the man literally dropped dead on the course without any warning.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance was called but the man was already dead when they arrived. It is not known who the man was but he was a guest of one of the members.

Staff at the club said the member in question is understandably upset as he was with him when the tragedy struck.

John Reid, owner of Brett Vale, said his sympathies go out to the family: "Of course our thoughts are with the family, this is a terrible thing to happen, especially just before Christmas."
