Suffolk police's force helicopter was searching for a missing person at about 12.35am on Sunday, July 27, when the crew was distracted by a green laser being shone at the aircraft.
Glen Porter, 20, of St Augustine Road, Ipswich, has been charged with recklessly endangering an aircraft and is due to appear at South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court on Friday.
