A 24-YEAR-OLD man is being held by police in connection with the murder of Capel pensioner Joan Albert.
The man – the first to be arrested during the seven-month police inquiry – was arrested by officers in his Ipswich home this morning.
Mrs Albert, 79, was found by neighbours stabbed to death in the hall of her Boydlands home on Sunday December 16, sparking one of the biggest murder hunts in Suffolk.
The man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody at a police station in Suffolk where he is being interviewed by detectives.
