A MAN has a possible fractured skull after plummeting 30 feet into the hold of a ship at Ipswich Port today.

The man, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old fell into the hold of the ship, called Werfen, at around 3.10pm.

Five fire crews from Princes Street and Colchester Road an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were called to the scene and it took around 40 minutes to release the man from the boat with the aid of a crane. The boat was docked in Cliff Quay at Ipswich Port.

The victim was rushed to Ipswich Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
