A MAN accused of hitting a toddler has appeared at court in Ipswich. Andrew Marks, of Bartholomew Street, Ipswich, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.

Andrew Marks, of Bartholomew Street, Ipswich, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.
The victim of the alleged attack can not be named due to legal reasons.
At court Marks spoke only to confirm his details to magistrates and to deny the charge against him.
It is alleged that a child was injured by the defendant between November 13 and 15 last year, Marks denies this.
The 22-year-old, represented by Howard Catherall, wore a white shirt and black trousers for the hearing at South East Suffolk Magistrates Court.
Marks was accompanied at court by a male who sat in the public gallery for the duration of the ten-minute hearing.
After hearing the plea magistrates declined jurisdiction of the case and decided a judge at jury at Ipswich Crown Court should hear the trial.
Marks was released on bail to return to the magistrates court on October 23 to be formally committed to the crown court.
