AN 87-year-old man killed in a road accident on the A12 near Woodbridge on Sunday has today been named as Frederick Hadden.

AN 87-year-old man killed in a road accident on the A12 near Woodbridge on Sunday has today been named as Frederick Hadden.

Mr Hadden, of Crofton Road, Ipswich, was driving a silver Ford Fiesta which was involved in a collision with a Mitsubishi Shogun at the junction with the C327 road to Great Bealings at about 2.30pm.

An 87-year-old woman in the Fiesta was also taken to Ipswich hospital with serious injuries. She is now said to be improving.

Police are continuing to ask anyone who saw the collision to call Pc Gary Buss at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01473 613500.

Officers are particularly keen to trace a motorcyclist who it is believed may have stopped at the scene, and the driver of silver car, which is thought to have been following the Shogun at the time of the crash.

Police would also like to thank Woodbridge residents and motorists for their patience while officers dealt with the collision on Sunday.
