POLICE have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery which took place at Great Thurlow Post Office on Monday.A 48-year-old man from Haverhill is currently being held at Bury St Edmunds police station after he was arrested last night.

A 48-year-old man from Haverhill is currently being held at Bury St Edmunds police station after he was arrested last night.
Staff at the post office, near Haverhill, were left badly shaken after two masked raiders burst through the doors of the quiet village shop wielding sawn-off shotguns.
While the men were taking money from the till a man, thought to be in his 60s, entered the store brandishing a ceremonial sword, before trying to fight the two-men off, receiving a blow to the head in the process.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to Monday's raid, which happened at around 4.50pm.
