Man released under police investigation after crash at Woodbridge Road/Argyle Street junction in Ipswich
A man arrested after a car crashed through a brick wall and into a mosque car park in Ipswich has been released under police investigation.
A red Volkswagen Passat was involved in a single-vehicle collision on the junction of Woodbridge Road and Argyle Street shortly before 7pm on Monday.
The car crashed through a brick wall and ended up in a car park of a mosque.
The incident is being treated as a “straightforward road traffic collision”, police said. There were no injuries.
Police said the driver left the scene but was later detained by officers.
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst disqualified and drink driving.
Today, a police spokesman said he faces no further action over those two offences.
He has been released under investigation for four other offences: driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence; driving without insurance; careless driving; failing to report a collision.
