Fire crews helped to rescue someone stuck in the River Orwell in central Ipswich last night.
Two fire engines and a specialist water incident vehicle were sent to Stoke Bridge at 10.58pm.
Firefighters used throw lines and an inflatable boat to rescue the person by 11.40pm.
The person was left in the care of a volunteer critical care paramedic from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service charity and paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service.
The man was conscious and breathing but is believed to have suffered mild hypothermia.
