POLICE in Essex have appealed for information from the public as they try to trace three teenagers who threatened a man with a meat cleaver before stealing his wallet.

POLICE in Essex have appealed for information from the public as they try to trace three teenagers who threatened a man with a meat cleaver before stealing his wallet.

The robbery took place in the field behind Colbayns School in Pathfields, Clacton, at about 3.50pm yesterday afternoon.

A police spokesman said: “The three men approached a 32-year-old local man who was walking across the field pushing his bike and threatened him with a meat cleaver and a large carving knife and demanded his wallet.”

They left with his wallet containing money and medication, which police have warned could be dangerous if taken.

All three were described as being about 17-years-old and white and were wearing hoodies.

One was of a skinny build, about 5ft 5ins tall and with straggly shoulder length blonde hair. He was wearing a black hoodie, black beanie hat, blue jeans and white trainers.

The second robber was also about 5ft 5ins tall, of a chubby build and wore a black hoodie, grey t-shirt, black jeans and black trainers.

The third was about 5ft 9ins tall, of a skinny build and had shoulder length brown hair. He was wearing a grey, white and black camouflage baseball cap, grey hoodie with black arms, dark blue jeans and white trainers.

The victim told officers there were “a number of people” walking their dogs on the field at the time of the incident who may have witnessed the incident.
