Man sentenced over nightclub butt
WOODBRIDGE man Paul Dickinson was sentenced to 180 hours community service today for butting a reveller in the face at a disco.The 27-year-old was also ordered to pay £150 compensation to his victim Stephen Fitzpatrick.

The 27-year-old was also ordered to pay £150 compensation to his victim Stephen Fitzpatrick.
Dickinson, of St Edmunds Close, Woodbridge, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court today after being found guilty of causing actual bodily harm to Mr Fitzpatrick at his trial last month.
Dickinson had denied the charge. He also pleaded not guilty to affray .
The court had heard Dickinson had become upset after another guest hit his three-year-old son on the head.
He said he had been dancing with his son when a woman had asked if she could hold the child.

The woman's partner had come storming over" and thrust his arm between them.
As he did so he had struck Dickinson's son on the head. Dickinson said as he stood outside a group of men had come out and had been swearing at him. Dickinson claimed one of the men Mr Fitzpatrick who had not been involved in the earlier incident with his son had come towards him. Fearing he was going to be hit Dickinson butted him in the mouth which caused a cut needing stitches.
