Man sought for Bury attack

SUFFOLK Police are appealing for information today after a 14-year-old girl was accosted in Bury St Edmunds last night.

At around 8pm the girl had left her friend's house and was walking down Tennyson Road towards Lake Avenue.

At around 8pm the girl had left her friend's house and was walking down Tennyson Road towards Lake Avenue. As she drew level with Chestnut Court and started to cross the road, she heard a noise coming from some bushes.

She then became aware of a man who came towards her and grabbed her by the shoulder. The girl began to struggle and kicked out at the man, causing him to release his grip and allowing her to make her escape.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 9in tall, mid 20s, short black hair with side burns, clean shaven, thin lips, broad build, wearing blue baggy jeans, hooded top, black leather zip up jacket, black boots with metal toe caps, and smelt unwashed.
