POLICE today said they have informally warned a 57-year-old man after an accosting in a residential area of Ipswich.
A man of Asian appearance is believed to have approached three children outside a bakery in Dales Road at around 12pm on August 8.
The three children, aged six, four and a baby, were waiting outside the shops for their mother when the incident occurred.
It is believed the man put his arm around the six-year-old and asked her whether she would like to go home with him.
Fortunately the mother noticed the man talking to her children and she immediately went to their rescue. The man then walked off down Dales Road.
A police spokeswoman said: "A 57-year-old has been informally warned regarding an accosting which took place on August 8."
