A judge has asked for a psychiatric report to be prepared on a man accused of brandishing a fake gun in Ipswich before he sentences him in October.
Terrie Forrest pleaded guilty at a plea and trial preparation hearing at Ipswich Crown Court today via a prison video link to possessing an imitation firearm, namely a black hand gun, with intent to cause fear of violence on July 20
Forrest, 34, of Cavendish Lodge, in Turret Lane, Ipswich, also admitted being in breach of two suspended sentence orders.
He was charged following an incident in Ipswich when armed police discharged a baton round at a man carrying a black metal firearm near Fore Street, Ipswich, just before 2pm.
The drama ended when police fired a plastic bullet at the man, who was taken to hospital as a precaution, in St Clement’s Church Lane.
Judge Rupert Overbury adjourned sentence until the week commencing October 23 for a psychiatric report and a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
