An Ipswich man who robbed someone of their mobile phone to “teach him a lesson” has been jailed.
Sean Casey had gone to Tesco’s at Copdock in the early hours of January 17 with some friends and claimed that, while in the car park, he had gone over to some parked cars “out of curiosity” after lights were flashed and horns beeped at him. He said he felt the occupants were “taking the Mickey” out of him and in a “moment of madness” robbed one of them of a mobile phone.
Casey, 29, of Dombey Road, admitted robbing Ashley Fisk of his mobile phone and breach of a suspended prison sentence and was jailed for 16 months and 145 days.
He denied having a knife and possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence to George Gostling and Tiffany Peck and was cleared of both offences by a jury after a trial this week.
