A man wearing a mask walked into Chantry News in Hawthorn Drive at 5.45am and demanded staff hand over cash.
When they refused, he grabbed cigarettes and fled towards Sheldrake Drive.
The robber is black, 6ft, and was wearing a black coat and jeans.
No weapons were used in the raid and no one was hurt.
