Days Gone By: What are your memories of The Princess Royal visiting Felixstowe College?
PUBLISHED: 07:00 06 July 2018
The Royal Family have paid many visits to Suffolk over the years – and this time we have turned back the clock to when Princess Anne travelled to Felixstowe in 1980.
The Princess Royal was shown around Felixstowe College on a bright and sunny day. Guests gathered outside the venue to greet her.
Excited staff then took the Princess Royal around various classrooms, before she was treated to a dance performance. She met with the students involved later in the day.
The Princess Royal regularly visited the girls’ school on speech days, and to attend official openings of new facilities.
The now-closed Felixstowe College was one of the country’s top independent schools, attended by daughters of the wealthy from home and abroad until it shut its doors in 1994.
