TWO men arrested in connection with a crash which killed three teenage friends have been released without charge.

Chris Jolley, Danny Archer and Richard Warren were all pupils at Hedingham School, near Halstead, and died when the Ford Escort they were in crashed into a field in May.

There had already been a number of arrests in connection with the early morning crash, including the 17-year-old driver of the Escort on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

But police have said there would be no further actions against two men arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

A 33-year-old man from Halsted and a 42-year-old from London were both released from bail after the Crown Prosecution Service said there was insufficient evidence to proceed against them.

The teenage driver of the Escort and a 26-year-old from London are due to appear in court in January charged with death by dangerous driving.
