POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses to an attack on a 52 year-old man in Kesgrave on Saturday.The man was wanting to use his car, which was parked in his driveway close to Kesgrave Kitchens on Main Road but found it was blocked in by a metallic green saloon car which was parked on the road.

POLICE have issued an appeal for witnesses to an attack on a 52 year-old man in Kesgrave on Saturday.

The man was wanting to use his car, which was parked in his driveway close to Kesgrave Kitchens on Main Road but found it was blocked in by a metallic green saloon car which was parked on the road.

After he waited for the driver to return, the man saw two men approaching the car and he asked them to move it so he could leave his driveway.

One of the men threw a cup of hot coffee at him and then picked up a scaffolding pole and hit him across the face.

The offender and the second man then got in to the green car and drove off.

The Kesgrave resident went to hospital where he was treated for mouth injuries including a cut lip which needed 11 stitches.

The offender is described as white with facial stubble. He was about 6ft, with short dark brown hair which was spiky on top and was wearing a long length navy blue fleece top with wording Universal Security on the back. He was also wearing blue knee-length shorts.

The other man was described as being about 5ft 6in with an oval face and fine short dark hair. He was similarly dressed in a navy fleece top and blue knee length shorts.
