THE crack of a gun shattered the air and in that split second Michelle Coulson's parents saw their beloved daughter's life change forever.
In what they describe as a "tragic course of events", Michelle's boyfriend Alexander Powell dropped a gun, causing it to fire.
The bullet severed Michelle's spinal cord, leaving her paralysed and confined to a wheelchair.
She will never return to live at the family home in Suffolk, but remains determined not to be a drain on society.
A cruel twist of fate has robbed her of her plan to train as a paramedic, but today she has adapted her dreams and is still aiming high.
