A WOMAN today claimed she was sexually assaulted while jogging near Sudbury in the early hours of this morning.The 33-year-old said she was running along Cats Lane in Great Cornard just after midnight when a man grabbed her around the arms and sexually assaulted her.

The 33-year-old said she was running along Cats Lane in Great Cornard just after midnight when a man grabbed her around the arms and sexually assaulted her.

The woman managed to get free and the offender ran off.

Specially trained officers were today speaking with the victim to obtain further information about the incident.

An area around Cats Lane has been cordoned off while forensic teams search for evidence.

The attacker is described as white, around 5ft 8ins with short, dark hair. He wore a sweatshirt and trousers and it was said he smelt of alcohol.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in or around the area of Cats Lane at the time and saw a man matching the description.
