A milestone 2,000 people have now signed up for this year’s Midnight Walk in Ipswich, organisers have revealed.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 12 in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice, which supports seriously ill people in Suffolk and their families.
Becky Jedrzejewski, events and challenges fundraiser at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “The Midnight Walk has been so well supported over the last twelve years and it’s wonderful to see that local people continue to enjoy the event and choose this as a way to support the hospice.
“We’ve got lots planned for this year with many of our favourite returning for the evening including Just Jay Dance and the Townsend Twins to get everyone warmed up and ready for the walk.
“We’ll also have some new surprise elements too on the night to remind people of why they’re walking but above all, we want to make sure that everyone has a great nice while raising vital funds for the hospice.”
The Midnight Walk will this year begin and end at Trinity Park and participants have the option to walk either six or ten miles.
Both routes make a stop at the hospice to allow people a moment of quiet reflection and to place a tag on the memory tree.
