A SUFFOLK mother who was instrumental in cutting the cost of sending parcels to serving soldiers is launching an online military support group today.

At 6pm this evening families of soldiers will be able to access a messaging forum on the new website of Parcels43.

The group's founder, Teresa Theobald, a mother-of-five from Leopald Street, Ipswich, said:“It is another way of soldiers getting in touch with their families and each other and we are going to be open Christmas day, so for families that will be brilliant and it is going to be a 24/7 forum.”

Her son was recently awarded a medal following his tour in Afghanistan with the Royal Anglian Regiment and she knows what families endure while their loved ones are away on tour.

She said: “Contact is the most important thing. It is all about the need to communicate.

“I have needed to talk to someone in the middle of the night many times when my son is away and we will offer that chance with the forum.”

The messaging forum will go live on www.parcels43.co.uk.
